Pregnancy & Positive COVID-19 Results

If you are currently pregnant and have been diagnosed with COVID-19 please give our office a call at (520) 721-8605. Our team wants to share with you how to manage symptoms at home, when you might need to come to the hospital, and how to do that safely for yourself and our hospital staff. We’ll also be wanting to monitor you and baby even more closely throughout your pregnancy to keep you both healthy.

Here you can find the CDC’s recommendations for those that are pregnant, breastfeeding, and caring for newborns during this time.

COVID-19 Vaccine While Pregnant or Breastfeeding

The COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for pregnant and lactating women who are at risk of exposure.

We recommend this helpful article for more information when pregnant patients are considering being vaccinated against COVID-19.

Patients can also reference the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine respective statements on this matter.

We highly encourage women who receive the COVID-19 vaccine and who are also pregnant, postpartum, lactating and/or contemplating pregnancy to sign up for a confidential registry with the University of Washington to help gather information and improve vaccine initiatives. This confidential registry will help improve our knowledge of COVID-19 vaccine in pregnancy and lactation. [Click here to participate]

Here you can find the CDC’s vaccination considerations for those that are pregnant or breastfeeding.
