"I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Brainard, who I find to be an awesome gynecologist and amazing surgeon. She is direct, answers questions, and listens to concerns, fears, etc. (I am sad to say not all doctors I have encountered are this way). I have had issues over the last few years with an ovary that twisted and a massive cyst. Recently, I had an agonizing experience where my remaining ovary twisted and poured blood into my pelvis and onto my rectum, then hardened. Dr. Brainard operated, removing the two masses of congealed blood, my uterus, remaining ovary and my cervix. It was a complicated, 5 hour surgery, and Dr Brainard even called in another surgeon to help with the issue of unsticking my bowel. The hysterectomy part of the surgery was amazing- the pain management and techniques she uses resulted in NONE of the horrible gas pains I had with my appendectomy and oophorectomy. I am six weeks out from my surgery, and nearly 100% pain-free for the last 2 weeks. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for good OB/GYN."
