I enjoy the variety of spending time in the office, on labor and delivery, and in the operating room. I love the one-on-one intimate interaction with the patient, the continuity of care, and seeing something through from beginning to end. And of course when it comes to pregnancy, every ultrasound, every delivery is awesome and amazing to me. Such an incredible miracle. It never gets old. It is never the same. What specifically attracted you to obstetrics? Having a baby is a very special time in a couple’s life. It is an intimate, powerful, and awesome time. To have the privilege of being a part of that moment is something I treasure. Describe the most rewarding experience that you have had working with a patient. There are so many moments I can think of. The common thread —being connected with my patients on an individual basis whatever their issue, small or large, happy or sad. Sharing the experience with them, in celebration or in grief, is the reward. Knowing that someone cares and you are not alone. |
